Hoover Buccaneers Varsity Falls To Etowah On Walkoff

A walk-off left Hoover Buccaneers Varsity on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to Etowah on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Etowah batting in the bottom of the seventh when a single off of Daniel Swatek, drive in the winning run.

Etowah took an early lead in the second inning. Hoover Buccaneers Varsity knotted the game up at one in the top of the fifth inning. A wild pitch by Etowah scored pinch runner Garrett Farquhar for Hoover.

Connor Campbell started the game for Hoover Buccaneers Varsity. He pitched six innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking out seven; Campbell took a no decision.Daniel Swatek took the loss for Hoover Buccaneers Varsity. He threw two-thirds of an inning, allowing one run, one hit, striking out one, and walking zero.

CJ Gilliland led Hoover Buccaneers Varsity with one hit in three at bats.
