7A #9 Hoover hosted 7A #5 Spain Park tonight in a cross-town rivalry of top ten teams. HHS got on the scoreboard early when Mackenzee Smith found the back of the net six minutes into the game off the assist from Kyla Shaw. Smith scored again 7 minutes later to give Hoover a 2-0 lead and that’s how the first half ended. Smith completed her hat trick early in the second half with an unassisted goal. Madison Cobb scored for Spain Park with twelve minutes remaining. The final score: Hoover 3, Spain Park 1.

HHS improves to 12-5 on the season and travels to both 4A-5A #6 Briarwood and 7A #6 James Clemens next week.
