The JV continued play after being off for Spring Break. The Bucs were 5-3 on the week. They are now 20-10-1 on the season and will be on the road Tuesday (at Hayden).

04.06: Tuscaloosa County Captures Lead Early To Defeat Hoover JV

Hoover JV fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 4-0 loss to Tuscaloosa County on Thursday. Tuscaloosa County scored on a double by #25 and a single by #3 in the first inning.

A single by Nikki Busby in the first inning was a positive for Hoover JV.

Busby went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Hoover JV in hits.

04.07: Pelham Almost Erases 6-Run Deficit In Loss To Hoover JV

Hoover JV got out to a six-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over Pelham on Friday. Pelham scored five runs in the failed comeback.

Hoover JV captured the lead in the first inning. MG Underwood grounded out, scoring one run.

Hoover JV scored five runs in the second inning. Hoover JV scored on a groundout by Madison Dabney, a error, a single by Nikki Busby, and a single by Haley Green.

Pelham scored three runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for Pelham came thanks to a walk and a double.

Rachel Shunnarah, Green, Tennyson Guffey, Busby, Abigail Sunday, and Harper Niblett all had one hit to lead Hoover JV. Pelham collected seven hits.

04.07: Hoover JV Falls In Back-And-Forth Affair Against Gardendale

Hoover JV and Gardendale passed the lead back-and-forth on Friday, but eventually Gardendale prevailed 4-3. The game was tied at three with Gardendale batting in the bottom of the fourth when the Rockets scored two runs in the fourth inning.

Gardendale took an early lead in the first inning. #30 homered on the first pitch of the at bat in the first inning, scoring one run.

Hoover JV scored three runs in the third inning. Hoover JV scored on a single by Harper Niblettand a error.

Niblett led Hoover JV with one run batted in. She went 2-for-3 on the game.

#8 led Gardendale with two hits in three at bats.

04.08: Hoover JV Downs Thompson, 6-3

Hoover JV beat Thompson 6-3 on Saturday. Katie Norris picked up the win.

Nikki Busby went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Hoover JV in hits.

04.08: Oxford Captures Lead Early To Defeat Hoover JV

Hoover JV fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-4 loss to Oxford on Saturday. Oxford took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

Hoover JV lost despite out-hitting Oxford seven to six.

Hoover JV captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Haley Green drove in one run when she singled.

Oxford took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first #24 homered, driving in three runs.

Hoover JV scored three runs in the fourth inning. Hoover JV scored on a double by Harper Niblett, a error, and a groundout.

Hoover JV collected seven hits. Niblett and Green each collected multiple hits for Hoover JV. Green and Niblett each drove in one run to lead Hoover JV.

04.08: Busby’s Walkoff Gives Hoover JV Victory Over Vestavia Hills

Hoover JV took Saturday’s game in dramatic fashion, with an 11-10 walk-off victory over Vestavia Hills. The game was tied at ten with Hoover JV batting in the bottom of the inning when Busby hit a sac-fly to drive in Kennedy Jackson.

Hoover JV earned the victory despite allowing Vestavia Hills to score six runs in the third inning.

Hoover JV took an early lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Katie Norris drove in two runs when she singled.

In the top of the third inning, Vestavia Hills tied things up at two. An error scored one run for Vestavia Hills.

Hoover JV scored four runs in the fifth inning to force the extra inning. Hoover JV scored on a single by Nikki Busby.

Vestavia Hills scored six runs in the third inning. The Bucs answered back with four, including a threee-run home run from Jackie Smith.

Hoover JV had 13 hits in the game. Smith, Haley Green, and Norris each collected multiple hits for Hoover JV. Green and Smith all had three hits to lead Hoover JV.

Vestavia Hills collected 11 hits.

04.08: Hoover JV Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Pelham

Hoover JV took the lead late and defeated Pelham 5-2 on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Hoover JV batting in the top of the fifth when Katie Norris singled driving in one run.

Hoover JV captured the lead in the first inning. Haley Green grounded out, scoring one run.

Pelham evened things up at two in the bottom of the second inning. Pelham scored two runs when #14 singled with zero outs in the second inning.

Harper Niblett went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Hoover JV in hits.

04.08: Hoover JV Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Hoover JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 3-2 loss to Oxford on Saturday. Oxford took the lead on a double in the first inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Oxford pitchers struck out three, while Hoover JV sat down one

Oxford took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning #44 drove in three runs when she doubled.

Jackie Smith, Atira McGowan, Katie Threeton, and Harper Niblett each managed one hit to lead Hoover JV.

Oxford had six hits in the game.
