Hoover JV went 3-0 this last week and will finish the season next Thursday on the road at Sumiton Christian. The team currently sits at 23-10-1. Below is the recap from last week.

04.11: Hoover JV Takes Some Time To Pull Away From Hayden

Hoover JV had trouble putting away Hayden on Tuesday, but eventually Hoover JV prevailed 8-3. Hoover JV took the lead for good in the extra inning of play. The game was tied at three with Hoover JV batting in the top of the ITB when Tennyson Guffey singled, driving in one run.

Hoover JV took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Hoover JV.

Hayden evened things up at three in the bottom of the fifth inning. Hayden scored two runs on a two-out double in the fifth inning.

Hoover JV had eight hits in the game. Jackie Smith and Katie Threeton each collected multiple hits for Hoover JV. Smith led Hoover JV with three hits in four at bats.

Fran Fernandez got the win.

04.13: Hoover JV Grabs Lead In Fourth Inning For Victory Over Vestavia Hills

Hoover JV took the lead late and defeated Vestavia Hills 2-1 on Thursday. The game was tied at one with Hoover JV batting in the bottom of the fourth when Tennyson Guffey singled, driving in one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Fran Fernandez struck out three, while Vestavia Hills pitcher sat down one.

Vestavia Hills captured the lead in the first inning.

Hoover JV knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Jackie Smith drove in one when she singled in the first inning.

Fernandez earned the win for Hoover JV. She tossed five innings, allowing one run, seven hits, striking out three, and walking one. #19 took the loss for Vestavia Hills. She threw four innings, allowing two runs, ten hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Hoover JV collected ten hits. MG Underwood, Smith, and Nikki Busby two hits to lead Hoover JV.

04.18: Hoover JV Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Thompson

Hoover JV defeated Thompson 12-5 thanks to a strong start. Hoover JV scored on a double by Katie Threeton, a single by Abigail Sunday, and a single by Nikki Busby in the first inning.

Thompson captured the lead in the first inning on a she double in the first inning.

After Thompson scored two runs in the top of the fourth, Hoover JV answered with two of their own. Thompson scored when #23 homered off of Fran Fernandez, driving in two runs. Hoover JV then answered when Atira McGowan doubled, driving in two runs.

Hoover JV scored five runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a error, a single by Threeton, a single by Sunday, and a single by Tennyson Guffey.

Hoover JV collected 12 hits. Sunday, Threeton, Haley Green each collected multiple hits for Hoover JV.Guffey, Sunday, McGowan, and Threeton each drove in two runs to lead Hoover JV.

Thompson had seven hits in the game.
