Hoover Buccaneers Varsity Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Grissom
Hoover Buccaneers Varsity and Grissom traded the lead back-and-forth on Saturday, but eventually Hoover Buccaneers Varsity prevailed 5-3. Hoover Buccaneers Varsity took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at three with Hoover Buccaneers Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Garrett Farquhar hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
Scott Elgin earned the win for Hoover Buccaneers Varsity. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs, six hits, and striking out six.
Sonny DiChiara went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.
