Multiple Teams · Make Plans to Attend the Jim Brown Day – Feb. 6th

This Saturday, February 6th, the Hoover softball team will be hosting a ceremony to honor former Coach Jim Brown. The ceremony will consist of awards, live speakers along with recorded messages, and finally a dedication of the field. This ceremony begins at 1:30. It follows the Black and Orange scrimmage, which begins at noon.

We invite all to come out and help us honor this great coach. Coach Brown served as the softball coach for 24 years that spanned for both Berry and Hoover. He compiled a 1186-319 record which is the second winningest coach in U.S. high school history and had 40 players under his tutelage sign to play college ball. He also has 15 area titles (Area record of 72-22), and 18 trips to the state finals (5 state championships and 3 runner-up finishes). Brown was named Birmingham News Coach of the Year four different years (1995, 1997, 2001, and 2004) and National Coach of the Year (2001).

After the field dedication, we invite everyone for refreshments in the hitting house. Make plans to the attend this Saturday, February 6th.
