The JV team went 2-0 this week and are off this weekend. The Bucs will resume action Monday at Thompson. Here is a look at the scores from this week.

03.07: Norris Throws Shutout As Hoover JV Defeats Sumiton Christian

Katie Norris didn’t allow a single run as Hoover JV defeated Sumiton Christian 15-0 on Monday. Norris allowed just one hit.

Hoover JV took an early lead in the first inning. Katie Threeton grounded out, scoring two runs.

Hoover JV scored five runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Olivia Woodruff, a triple by Jordyn Johnson, an error, a double by MG Underwood, and a groundout by Threeton.

One bright spot for Sumiton Christian was a single in the second inning.

Underwood led Hoover JV with two hits in two at bats. Hoover JV didn’t commit a single error in the field.

03:09: Hoover JV Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Tuscaloosa County

Hoover JV grabbed an early lead on its way to an 8-2 victory over Tuscaloosa County on Thursday. Hoover JV scored on a double by MG Underwood, a stolen base by Rachel Shunnarah, and a single by Tennyson Guffey in the first inning.

Tuscaloosa County captured the lead in the top half of the first inning scoring one run on a single with two outs in the first inning. Hoover JV secured the victory by answering back to five runs of their own in the first inning.

Hoover JV took the lead for good with five runs in the first inning. In the first Underwood doubled, driving in one run, Green singled, driving in one, and Guffey singled, driving in two runs.

Hoover JV collected eight hits. Underwood and Green each collected multiple hits for Hoover.

Fran Fernandez picked up the win in five innings of work allowing six hits and striking out three.
