March 6 – Hoover 26, Tuscaloosa County 3

Eva Guenster was bad news for opposing pitchers on Tuesday, driving in seven on two hits to lead Hoover past Tuscaloosa County Tuesday. Guenster drove in runs on a double in the second, a sacrifice fly in the third, and a home run in the fourth.

Tuscaloosa County scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Hoover Bucs JV still managed to pull out the victory 26-3.

Hoover got things moving in the first inning. Abby Fortner drove in one when she singled.

Hoover scored 13 runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Hoover was led by Atiria McGowan, Taylor Burch, Liz Lewis, Tennyson Guffey, Anna Kathryn Smith, and McGowan, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Lewis toed the rubber for Hoover. She lasted four innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out three.

Hoover  hit three home runs on the day. Amanda Grace Parker went for the long ball in the third inning. Guenster had a homer in the fourth inning. Burch had a long ball in the fourth inning.

Hoover tallied 21 hits. Fortner, Parker, Burch, Smith, Annelise Clark, Guffey, Guenster, and McGowan all managed multiple hits for Hoover. Burch, Parker, and Fortner all had three hits to lead Hoover.

March 8 – Helena 3, Hoover 1

Both teams were strong on the mound on Thursday, but Helena was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Hoover on Thursday. Brookelyn Cannon started the game for Hoover and recorded 12 outs.

Hoovergot on the board in the first inning. Eva Guenster drove in one when she singled.

In the bottom of the first inning, Helena tied things up at one. Helena scored one run on a single. Helena pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.

Cannon toed the rubber for Hoover Bucs JV. She went four innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out four and walking one.

Atiria McGowan, Taylor Burch, and Guenster each collected one hit to lead Hoover.
