Wednesday, April 10 – Thompson 11, Hoover 5

Hoover fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-5 loss to Thompson on Wednesday. Thompson scored on a double by K Carr, a double by K Channell, and a single by M Poplin in the first inning.

The Bucs JV struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Thompson, giving up 11 runs.

Hoover put up four runs in the fourth inning by a single by Linleigh Hardy, a groundout by Noelle Nicholson, and an error on a ball put in play by Laney Roe.

Thompson scored eight runs in the third inning. The big inning for Thompson came thanks to singles by K Cannon and L Williams and an error on a ball put in play by Carr.

Carr took the win for Thompson. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out one.

Madysen Chaney took the loss for Hoover. She allowed six hits and five runs over two and a third innings, striking out one and walking one.

Sadie Cope went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Bucs in hits.

Thompson scattered 12 hits in the game. Cannon and Channell all collected multiple hits for Thompson.

Thursday, April 11 – Hoover 4, Chelsea 3

Hoover Bucs JV beat Chelsea 4-3 on Thursday.

Chelsea got things started in the first inning. A sacrifice bunt by K Goss scored one run for Chelsea.

Caroline Whisenhunt earned the victory on the rubber for Hoover. She allowed five hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.

J Holsombeck took the loss for Chelsea. She surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Linleigh Hardy went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Bucs in hits. She homered in the first inning.
