What are the expectations for students during this time?

We will update all stakeholders as we learn more information.


All athletics are canceled in the immediate future. The use of Hoover High School facilities is prohibited. This includes weight training and practices. Watch for future communication.


HCS Facilities are Closed to the Public. Teachers and Students will not have access to facilities after 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17. Essential personnel only after this date. Only come to the building on Tuesday, March 17, to retrieve essential, personal items. After retrieving items, students should exit the building and property immediately.


Course Selection
Students who did not turn in course selection sheets need to contact their counselor immediately if they have not been contacted already. Also, students can take a picture of their course selection sheets and send them to their counselor so that their choices for next year can be entered.


Curriculum and Instruction
Grades / Report Cards: Grades can be checked online via INow. Hard copies of report cards will be handed out upon return to school. Grades will be posted as of this current date, and, if necessary, we can complete a Grade Change Form once we return to school.

Online Learning: Voluntary online learning opportunities are okay during school closure. We cannot make e-learning assignments required during this time per ALSDE guidance.

Jeff State is planning on Dual Enrollment classes to continue in an online format. Colleges are the authority on dual enrollment classes.


RC3 Student Interviews for next year will be done via phone and not in person.


Student Attendance
All absences will be excused. These days will not count toward senior exam exemption.
