The Hoover Bucs Junior Varsity softball team season is underway and last week went 1-0. Below is the recap. The Bucs have two games this both at home.

v. Oak Mountain (W 15-5)

Brittany Beard wasted no opportunities at the plate on Thursday, driving in five on three hits to lead Hoover past Oak Mountain 15-5. Beard drove in runs on a home run in the third and a double in the sixth.

Hoover earned the victory despite allowing Oak Mountain to score two runs in the first inning.

Bucs pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third McKenzie Stribling homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Maggie Mackin singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Beard homered on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs.

Becca Clark was credited with the victory for Hoover. The righthander surrendered five runs on 13 hits over six innings.

Hoover collected 19 hits. Beard, Jesse Givens, Stribling, Christian Congleton, Kate Dinkel, Mackin, and MC Detwiler each managed multiple hits for the Bucs.
