TICKETS TO HOOVER FOOTBALL SEASON OPENER IN MERCEDES-BENZ STADIUM NOW ON SALE
HOOVER (April 27, 2021) – Tickets to Hoover High School’s season opening football game in Atlanta are now on sale to the public. The Bucs face the North Gwinnett Bulldogs on Saturday, Aug. 21, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game will kick off at 4:45 p.m. CDT.
Tickets are $21 each and may be purchased at http://am.ticketmaster.com/
“That’s a big deal,” said Dave Hunter, Corky Kell executive director. “That’s where the kids, those Saturday teams, everybody wants to play there. It’s kind of like when we first played in the Georgia Dome when the kids could say they got to play where they played the Super Bowl. These kids can say the same thing. You always want to play in a venue that’s big-time like that one is.”
Last year, Hoover finished 11-2 and No. 41 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings powered by BlackMP Living Water. The Bucs have won 13 state championships, the most of any large high school in Alabama. The Bulldogs were 9-4 and lost in the second round of the Georgia 7A playoffs. Hoover was scheduled to play in the 2020 event against Lowndes (Ga.), but the game was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are extremely excited to be playing in the Corky Kell Classic at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta,” said Hoover Head Coach Josh Niblett. “There is no better time for our Hoover Family to show our pride and passion for Hoover Football. At Hoover, we pride ourselves on playing elite programs in 1st class venues. North Gwinnett has a tradition that speaks for itself. We will need all of our Hoover Family in Atlanta to affect the energy and the environment that will allow our team and staff to accomplish the mission. We got one mission and that’s to go 1-0. Big-time opener, against a big-time opponent, in a big-time setting. Let’s show up and show out!”
