Bucs Varsity scores more runs than Tuscaloosa County, takes victory on Thursday to the tune of 5-1
Bucs Varsity opened up scoring in the second inning, when Andrew Sasser drew a walk, scoring one run.
Trent Tolbert earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Bucs Varsity. He went two innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out two and walking zero. Joshua Kissinger and Shaw Niblett entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Addison Boughman got the start for Tuscaloosa County. He went one inning, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out two. JC Stapp threw six innings in relief.
Bucs Varsity totaled nine hits in the game. Max Garvey and Jesse Kelley each had multiple hits for Bucs Varsity. Kelley and Garvey each collected two hits to lead Bucs Varsity.
Tuscaloosa County didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brandon Zark had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
