Bucs Varsity had no trouble on offense today, winning big over Vestavia Hills 12-2
Griffin Lape earned the win for Bucs Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Evan Veal and Shaw Niblett entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Garrison Cherry led things off on the hill for Vestavia Hills. He went two and a third innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.
Bucs Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Max Garvey went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Daniel Swatek had a homer in the seventh inning.
Bucs Varsity racked up 14 hits. Sonny DiChiara, Swatek, Preston Moore, and Peyton Wilson all managed multiple hits for Bucs Varsity. Swatek and DiChiara all had three hits to lead Bucs Varsity. Bucs Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. DiChiara made the most plays with six.
Colton Lewis led Vestavia Hills with two hits in three at bats.
