After hosting James Clemens the previous night, Hoover traveled to Trussville for their first road game of the year. The match began with Hewitt controlling most of the possession in the beginning of the first half. Each time the Huskies threatened to score they were turned away by the defense led by Goalie Haley Lowell. The Bucs offense finally began to find their legs late in the first half, but shots by Kyla Shaw and Mackenzee Smith did not find the back of the net. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.
The second half saw both teams have opportunities to break the game open. Hoover’s best chance in the second half came as Mackenezee Smith found herself in a one versus one with the goalie from Hewitt. Her shot went just wide of the far post. Trussville finally broke through as #6 Taylor Doss scored. With the loss the Bucs record fell to 1-1. They will be back in action on 2/19 at 7 p.m. as they host Carrollton HS, Ga. Go Bucs!
