Hoover Bucs Varsity defeated Enterprise 11-7 on Friday thanks in part to Colson Lawrence, who drove in four runners. Lawrence drove in runs on a single in the second, a home run in the third, and a single in the fifth.
Hoover Bucs Varsity grabbed an early lead. Hoover Bucs Varsity scored on a single by Ty Truett, a walk by Robby Ashford, a single by Lawrence, a groundout by Lucas Steele, and an error in the second inning.
Hoover Bucs Varsity pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. Ethan Pomeroy took the win for Hoover Bucs Varsity. He allowed one hit and five runs over three innings, striking out five. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Lawrence Hammonds, Kole Roberts, Lawrence, and Walter Ford all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Ford recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Hoover Bucs Varsity.
Hoover Bucs Varsity socked one home run on the day. Lawrence had a homer in the third inning.
