The Hoover High School Girls Tennis Team lost to Northridge in a close and tough match Tuesday evening. The evening started out with doubles matches. The #2 doubles seed consisting of Julia Keffer and Sarah Holditch were able to close the game with a tiebreaker score of 7-5.
For the single matches, both teams agreed to play the best 2 sets out of 3, so everybody was prepared for longer and tougher matches. #5 Emma Burch won the first singles match of the evening for the girls team; the two players went into a tiebreaker and Emma quickly closed her match with a tiebreaking score of 10-3. #3 Julia Keffer then won her match in yet another close game. Julia came back from losing the first set to win the second one. She then won her tiebreaker with a score of 10-6. There were many other close scores, but Hoover was unable to fully fight off the talented group of athletes playing for Northridge.
The girls next match will be against Vestavia on March 19th in a home match at 3:00. This will be a tough section match, so come out and support the team!
