The Class 7A Tennis Tournament started on April 16th with the girls. The tournament began with singles matches. For Hoover, #2 Angie Morales, #3 Julia Keffer, #4 Sarah Holditch, #5 Emma Burch, and #6 Arya Tamhane all won their first round of matches and moved onto the second. Angie Morales was able to secure a win in her second round and move on to the finals for the end of the tournament.

After the first two rounds of singles wrapped up, the matches moved on to doubles. #1 doubles Angie and Kennedy Ward, #2 doubles Julia and Sarah, and #3 doubles Arya and Segen Lister, all won their first matches and, again, moved onto the second round. None of Hoover’s doubles teams won their second round, and then the finals began.

Angie went up against Vestavia Hills High School’s number #2 player, and though both girls played their heart out, Angie fell to the Vestavia opponent.

Hoover ended the match with a fourth place spot and a score of 21 points, only 5 below Spain Park’s score. The Girls Team ended the season with a score of 8 wins and 6 losses. Individual Player records can be viewed at the following URL:
