Hoover Buccaneers Freshman Claims Blow Out Win Over Thompson Thanks to Third Inning Boost
Hoover Buccaneers Freshman scored nine runs in the third on its way to a 14-3 victory over Thompson on Saturday. Hoover Buccaneers Freshman’s big inning was driven by walks by Andrew Parrish, KJ Law, Keith Christein, and Clayton Wallace, singles by Devin Lee and Jake Trent, and a double by Samuel Schmidt.
Thompson knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning, when J Martin drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hoover Buccaneers Freshman pulled away for good with nine runs in the third inning. In the third Parrish drew a walk, scoring one run, Law drew a walk, scoring one run, Christein drew a walk, scoring one run, Wallace drew a walk, scoring one run, Lee singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs, Schmidt doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run, and Trent singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Weston Dow earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Hoover Buccaneers Freshman. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out one.
