Hoover Bucs Varsity grabbed an early lead on its way to a 12-4 victory over Fairhope on Tuesday. Hoover Bucs Varsity scored on a walk by Jack Henry Milligan to answer the three run first by Fairhope. Hoover Bucs Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Milligan drew a walk, scoring one run and Daniel Swatek reached on a dropped third strike. Hoover Bucs Varsity tallied four runs in the fourth inning. Hoover Bucs Varsity’s offense in the inning came from a single by Trey Harry, a sacrifice fly by Lawrence Hammonds, and a home run by Peyton Wilson.
Swatek got the win for Hoover Bucs Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three. Gabe Anderton, Austin Cornelius, and Avery Anderson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Hoover Bucs Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Hammonds had a four bagger in the third inning. Wilson went yard in the fourth inning. Hoover Bucs Varsity totaled 14 hits in the game. Cooper Prince and Wilson all managed multiple hits for Hoover Bucs Varsity. Wilson and Prince each collected two hits to lead Hoover Bucs Varsity.
