Hoover Bucs Varsity defeated Vestavia Hills 14-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Avery Anderson induced a double-play to finish off the game.
Hoover Bucs Varsity secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the sixth inning. Hoover Bucs Varsity big bats were led by Jack Henry Milligan, Evan Radford, Jesse Kelley, Trey Harry, Peyton Wilson, and Robby Ashford, all driving in runs in the inning.
Andrew Sasser got the win for Hoover Bucs Varsity. He went six and a third innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out ten. Anderson threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Hoover Bucs Varsity totaled 14 hits. Ashford, Kelley, Harry, and Radford all managed multiple hits for Hoover Bucs Varsity. Radford, Harry, Kelley, and Ashford each collected two hits to lead Hoover Bucs Varsity. Hoover Bucs Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
