Hoover Bucs Varsity seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off groundout at the end of the game to topple Austin. The game was tied at two with Hoover Bucs Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when Peyton Wilson grounded out, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Hoover Bucs Varsity pitchers struck out three.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Hoover Bucs Varsity tied things up at two when Cooper Prince singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Jack Henry Milligan led the Hoover Bucs Varsity to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Austin Cornelius threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
